PedScene is an application designed to assist the collision investigator at the scene of a pedestrian collision to determine how fast the striking vehicle was traveling or how far the pedestrian would have been thrown as a result of the impact.

When the investigator enters the pedestrian’s throw distance (distance from impact to final rest) the application will calculate the approximately impact speed of the striking vehicle. Thereby providing the investigator at the scene with the knowledge if speed was an issue in the collision.

In situations where the area of impact cannot be clearly identified, the investigator may enter an approximate impact speed for the striking vehicle and the application will calculate the approximate throw distance of the pedestrian. Assuming the final resting position of the pedestrian is known, this information may be used in determining the approximate area of impact, assisting the investigator in determining what happened in the collision.

The application works in both Imperial and Metric Units and will convert the data between both units of measurements.
